Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Lifting Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
Othe Job Requirements
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Property & Casualty insurance experience preferred but not required.
- Prior administrative, processing, or office experience preferred.
Job Summary
The Policy Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of policy transactions, maintenance of policy records, support of underwriting operations, and delivery of excellent service to agents, policyholders, and internal customers. This position works closely with underwriters, processors and other departments to ensure policy information is complete, accurate and processed in accordance with company standards, regulatory requirements and established service expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
Policy Processing
- Process endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, renewals, rewrites, and other policy transactions within established service standards.
- Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to processing.
- Verify policy information and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate policy records within company systems.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies, missing information, or unusual situations as appropriate.
- Assist with new business setup and related documentation as assigned.
Workflow & Queue Management
- Monitor and process assigned electronic workflows, queues, and requests.
- Prioritize workload to meet departmental goals and service expectations.
- Follow established procedures and workflows to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Assist in maintaining departmental service standards and turnaround times.
Communication & Customer Service
- Communicate professionally and effectively with agents, policyholders, underwriters and other internal departments.
- Research and respond to questions regarding policy processing activities.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve processing issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Provide phone and customer service support as needed and/or assigned.
Additional Duties
Team Support
- Cross-train in multiple processing functions to provide departmental coverage.
- Assist coworkers during periods of high volume or staff absence.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
General
- Willingness to learn new systems, procedures and insurance concepts.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform routine office tasks including filing, scanning, and handling documents.
