Educational Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of data-entry and/or processing experience required; 7+ years preferred; prior team lead or informal leadership experience preferred.
  • Insurance industry knowledge and prior work with policy administration systems preferred.

Lifting Requirements

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Othe Job Requirements

  • Anticipated involvement in system testing, procedure and SOP development, and post-implementation workflow redesign.
  • Occasional travel for training, or implementation support may be required.

Job Summary

The Processing Lead supports the daily operations of the Processing team while actively performing processing functions. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant handling of new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. This role provides day-to-day guidance to processors, serves as a primary resource for questions, and helps reduce routine escalations.

Primary Responsibilities

Processing Responsibilities:

  • Perform and maintain a consistent volume of processing work, including endorsements, renewals, and cancellations, in alignment with assigned workflow responsibilities.
  • Balance individual production responsibilities with team support to ensure overall departmental performance.

Team Support & Workflow Coordination:

  • Lead and support a team of processors, including training, coaching, performance reviews, and daily oversight.
  • Serve as a primary resource for processing questions and complex issues, escalating as needed.
  • Manage team workflow, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to service and quality standards.

Process Improvement & System Support:

  • Participate in system conversion activities, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, documenting defects, and validating fixes.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining procedure manuals and SOPs for all processing functions and the policy management system.
  • Assist with implementing redesigned processing workflows to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls post-implementation.

Additional Duties

  • Provide backup support for receptionist, including answering incoming calls and assisting with tasking functions as needed.
  • Oversee setup of new business policies, ensuring required documentation and checklists are completed and submitted appropriately.
  • Assist with email inbox management and incoming mail processing during peak periods.
  • Participate in training development and deliver training on new procedures and system functionality.
  • Assist with audits, special projects and other duties as assigned.
